What are the Lawful Purposes or Conditions we rely on to share your Information?

  • Explicit Consent  TPIH will share your personal information if you give specific consent for us to do so. An example of that process is if you use the Release of Information process to get a copy of your Medical Record.
  • Protection of vital interests – It may be necessary for TPIH to process or disclose personal information to protect someone’s life.
  • Preventive or Occupational medicine – Processing in context is necessary for the purposes of preventive or occupational medicine, for the assessment of the working capacity of the employee, medical diagnosis, the provision of health care or treatment.
  • Public Safety Emergency – In exceptional circumstances, there may be an overriding public authority interest in disclosing personal health information when the information will reduce or prevent a serious threat to public health or safety, such as helping manage contagious diseases and prevent future outbreaks. 
  • Population Health Management – TPIH may share personal health information with authorities to improve clinical health outcomes through better coordinated, more proactive, and personalized care or to manage patient cohorts for a specific nation-wide campaign. 
  • Scientific Research – Researchers may request access to personal health information to carry out a research project to provide insights into care. In most cases, anonymized data would suffice. In other cases, consent shall be obtained from the patients. There could also be situations where neither option is possible.
  • Legal Investigation – TPIH may be required to gather and process necessary personal information for investigation into a criminal offense, upon an official request from investigative bodies.
  • Legal Obligation – TPIH may be required to process personal information to fulfil a legal obligation contractually or rendered by a competent court.

How do we store and protect your information?

We store your personal information on secure servers that are in Qatar or in other countries that have adequate data protection laws. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
